In 1996 Malcolm set up the British Ski Academy in the Chamonix Valley to provide better foundational Alpine training to British youngsters than was available in his own youth. The BSA's is the longest running academy programme serving British ski racing. Most members of the current British World Cup Ski Team trained with the BSA extensively in their junior years.

Malcolm raced World Cup downhill with the British Ski Team and is a former British dry slope slalom champion. He also holds the British record for vertical distance skied in 24 hours.
