Following the success of our races in 2025 we return to Verbier this coming season for the following events:

Anglo Scottish Ski Championships, 04/05/06 January 2026 BSA Champs, 07/08 January 2026

British Interschool Ski Championships, 16/17 March 2025

Please note that we (BSA) offer race support throughout the races and training on the race piste for the two days prior to each event.

All the above are BASS events run to FIS rules as modified for GB. All races take place on the Savoleyre race hills, mainly on the north side (Casino) which is snow sure and extremely user friendly!

The series of races from 04 through to 08 January will include 2 x SL, 2 x GS and 2 x SG. (Depending on numbers and conditions it may be possible to squeeze in an extra start.)

The March races, 1 x SL and 1 x GS, are scheduled and situated to suit British School ski teams coming over to Verbier for a long weekend, and to offer extra racing opportunities for International Schools and for British junior racers returning from the English Championships in Bormio.

BSA affiliates with Snowsport England.

  • Coaching and race support £80 per day, 28/12/2025 to 08/01/2026. Spaces will be limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Online booking for training opening 01/09/2025

Prize Giving Prizegivings will take place at the top of the Savoleyre after Tuesday's & Thursday's races.

Accommodation and Access We recommend staying on the La Tzoumaz (north) side of Verbier for ease of access to the race piste and for value deals in the main valley below.

Refunds

In the case of withdrawal due to injury (up to 48 hours prior to the event) refunds will be available on production of a doctor’s letter. Refunds will not be available for adverse weather or snow conditions that result in the cancellation of races. The organisers and hill team will do their utmost to ensure that all of the races are run in full.

Volunteers and Support Whilst we have a team travelling from the UK for the race, we do require additional help to run the races smoothly. A handful of gatekeeper parents would make all the difference. Please email malcolm@britskiacad.org.uk if you can help on any race day.

Insurance and Equipment Rules

All competitors must have a current insurance policy that covers them for ski racing. The Organising Committee may require proof of insurance such as a valid governing body race licence or an independent certificate of insurance. No insurance = No Racing

Racers are reminded that helmets for giant slalom must conform to GB rules, i.e. no soft sides, soft vents, and remove slalom chin guard. For U14 upwards, this means a FIS compliant helmet with the FIS sticker (see section 3.6 in the FIS equipment rules which can be found at gbski.com/equip).

Catsuits for U10/U12 if the weather is fine The TCM will consider the weather forecast each day and decide whether or not to allow the U10/U12s to compete in catsuits. Be prepared. If the weather turns foul, Mini racers arriving at the start in catsuits may not be permitted to leave the gate.

Conduct

The resort have asked that competitors ski in a safe manner on the public pistes, or with due regard for the safety and enjoyment of other hill users. In particular please slow down well before joining the lift queue. Racers caught skiing dangerously may be excluded from the races.

Keep lift passes with you. No ticket, no lift.

And finally, please, no littering.
