COVID19 Guidelines:

In addition to the procedures that Norfolk Snowsports Centre will have in place, the following Guidelines and Protocols will be followed by BSA:

In order to minimize the risk of transmission of the COVID19 virus:

  • All current guidelines issued by the Government, Snowsport England, GB Snowsports, and the venue will be checked at the start of every camp to ensure that they are followed wherever possible.
  • Government social distancing guidelines, in place at the time of the camp, will be adhered to at all times, unless there is a greater risk in place.
  • Staff will request contact information relating to the trainee and whoever is bringing them to or collecting them from the camp to facilitate ‘track and trace’ if necessary.
  • Parents will be required to sign a declaration that the trainee does not show any symptoms associated with COVID19 and that they have not been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days that has. Parents will also need to declare any medical conditions, allergies etc. that the trainee may have.
  • Trainees will be responsible for their own medical supplies such as Epipens, wherever possible.
  • Parents/carers should only have one person bringing the trainee to or collecting from the camp.
  • All staff will check their temperature before arriving at the camp to ensure that it is not raised. If they are displaying any symptoms associated with COVID19 they will self- isolate immediately and notify the Co-ordinator above.
  • Arrival and departure times at the camps will be staggered in order to maintain social distancing and not overcrowd the entrance to the facility. Groups of trainees will be notified in advance of the camp who their coach will be and their scheduled arrival time. The coach will then meet them at a location decided by the venue in order to complete the sign in process before moving to the first activity.
  • Trainees will provide all of their own equipment
  • Trainees will arrive appropriately dressed to start the camp.
  • BSA will provide trainees with their own hand sanitizer supply
  • BSA will provide trainees with their own buffs to act as a shield whilst on the poma.
  • BSA staff and trainees will have individual water bottles and bring their own packed lunches (assuming that food is not available to purchase at the facility – if it is, payments should be cashless).
  • BSA will provide their own gates, stubbies and training equipment.
  • Each coach will have a group of trainees that is no more than the maximum permitted by guidelines in place at the time of the camp, that have been issued by the government, Snowsport England or the venue (currently 5 per coach).
  • Each group will take part in a socially distanced activity. When this activity is complete, all equipment will be cleaned with an appropriate sanitization product, before being used by another group.
  • Lunch breaks and rest breaks will be staggered to allow for social distancing
  • In the event of an accident/injury, a qualified First Aider will assess and treat the injured person only after fully cleansing their hands with sanitizer (minimum 70% alcohol) before and after putting a face mask on (to be carried on their person, in a sealed bag at all times).
